IT'S IN THE AIR....A-1 STYLE JACKET
So,as a follow up to the nice post by my buddy VILBO JR , of FFC fame ,i've decided to post a nice A-1 style ,straight from the vault.this model is very similar to the one worn by the great Amelia .A-1 are the HG of jacket collectors and over 30 years of collecting ,more or less intensely, i've only had one ,but in such a relic condition ,that when i was offered krazy $$ for it ,i could not resist . One never knows ,i might get lucky again ...For the time being ,i'll settle any time for the kind featured on today's post. This jacket is made of the infamously fragile capeskin,it's lined with an OD3 cotton fabric and sports an amazing KWIK grommet zipper.gotta love its Bakelite buttons .For sure,a versatile jacket that can be worn with either dress pants or worn out chinos, for that "rugged look".......
That A piece you've got here Riveted !
ReplyDeleteLove the so 1920's zipper design.
Great !
OUPS !!!!! WHAT A GREAT JACKET…!!!! I LIKE WHEN SUCH A VINTAGE ITEM IS IN A FRENCH DRESSING ROOM…COCORICO !!!!!
ReplyDeletegot to be careful when wearing it though ....i'll post a suede one next week promised.
ReplyDeleteI don't like when jackets are in this condition cause everytime I wear them I risk to damage the leather… so I'm not really cool with such a condition vintage clothing… reason why I decide first to display my rare items and finaly to sell them to buy strongest or news ones…
ReplyDeletethe condition is great for its age.capeskin sure isn't horsehide that's why most of these jackets didn't survive.i've got that tendency of selling my vintage to buy Japanese copies too .
ReplyDeleteyes and capeskin doesn't like water… and in france it rains… sometime !!!… nothing could replace original clothes, even the best japanese brand … but now I don't want to have any stress and to wake up in the night to crye many tears because my deadstock leather jacket after I wear it all day long, looks like a "PAIN PERDU" ;-)…
ReplyDeleteashes to ashes, dust to dust… !!!! and no regret… sometime !!!!
read and approved ...same here
